...and new boogy boards
...and even tried turtle catching but the turtle was too fast for the boys.
Even if they wait patiently and were really quiet!
First Time Golfers!
Then it was time to practised our golf swing for the first time with the clubs Daddy got us, and waited for Uncle Steve, Aunt Sherry and baby Sarah to arrive.
Fishing Derby
Saturday morning we were up early to the fishing derby. We caught a bunch of lilly pads and lost a bunch more worms to some tricky thieving fish but were unsuccessful at actually getting one of them. No problem...everyone who participated got a prize (a toonie) and we would try again tomorrow.More golf!
As we almost took out a trailer with our practising, we thought it best to make our way to the Field of Dreams golf course at the park where Curtis and Spencer played their first 3 holes of golf. I think you've got them hooked Daddy O.
Rock On!
Saturday night we went to the family street dance. The boys, and mom, were up there shaking their booty and having a blast.
Dad bought some tickets for the 50/50 draw and the sales lady couldn't spell Oliphant for any money. It was a running joke all night long... especially when Dad's name was called as the winner. He came home with one of the biggest winnings they had yet - $246.50. You would have thought that he had won the big lottery the way everyone in the park was trying to get him to buy everything for them the rest of the weekend.
Canada Day
Sunday morning we enjoyed a pancake breakfast put on by the Recreation Committee and then did a little more fishing.
Thomas caught two and Spencer caught his first fish ever.
He was so excited.
Curtis was pretty successful at feeding a few more fish worms but we couldn't get the fish to stick to the hook. Next time Curtis!
Yes, even Mom got into the act trying to help out Curtis.
Canada Day Parade
Sunday afternoon we were busy decorating bikes and golf carts for the Canada Day Parade in the park. Our golf cart won 3rd prize ($10) for our Birthday Theme which also included us singing "Happy Birthday to Canada" throughout the whole parade and judging.
Sunday night was pie irons by the fire - pizza and cherry pie...yummers. Oh and let's not forget sparklers, of course!!
Holiday Monday
We were finishing up work on the shed, had a water gun fight, made it back to the beach with our boogy boards, enjoyed some beaver tails and then started packing up to head home.
When the boys were asked what their favourite part of the weekend was, they couldn't answer just one thing...they said it was all great. A huge success!!!
