Happy Happy Happy

What a super long weekend this turned out to be. We had Happy Easter, Happy Birthday Mom, and Happy we won our last hockey game all in one weekend.

Happy Easter
Friday was egg decorating at Kathy's where we got to see the whole family and eat lots of delicious food after carefully decorating our eggs. Let's not forget a bit of guitar hero too. Thanks everyone for all their effort in making that an extremely fun time!

Happy Hockey/Happy Birthday Mom
The Big Game - Well it was the big play off game against the Purple Penguins. The game started with the boys having their numbers and names announced over the PA system just like the professionals. They all skated out as their names were being called and stood on the blue line until everyone was announce. Within the first minute the Black Lightening scored their first goal and not long after that their second. We were up by three goals when the Purple Penguins finally managed to score. We got another and the Purple Penguins got two more. After the 2 fifteen minute periods were over the final score ended up being 6-3 for the Black Lightening team. They all played very well and have made such progress from our very first game.

Then it was time for the presentation of medals.

The boys were so proud that they made sure to show the medals to any and everyone. Way to go...we all can't wait until next year!

We all went out for a celebration dinner to Mom's favourite place, Montfort. It was a great day. Thanks guys!

Hockey Playoffs

Well it's hard to believe that the hockey season is almost at an end. This weekend was the playoff weekend where the teams had to play games on both Saturday and Sunday on the full ice. The first game was very exciting as the Black Lightening dominated the game with an 8-4 victory. They did it with only 8 players and were more than a little tired when it was all over.

Our neighbours Wally and Andreas came along to cheer the boys along too. They couldn't believe how strong the team was. That night we went to see Andreas play his game and got some tips from the older kids (Andreas is 9).

Sunday was very close for the first half of the game when goals went back and forth but strong defence won out in the end and the Black Lightening pulled through with another 6-4 win. Great job team! Can't wait to see how we do at the final tournament next weekend!

Another Great Game

Not nearly the nail biter it was the previous week. Thank goodness because neither Mom or Dad had much to work with after last weekend's game :-)
Spencer was in goal again and this week and they were playing the Purple Panthers. Spencer is sure he got a shut-out as he stopped the one goal right on the line...I think if you were to ask the Panthers, they think they got a least one goal in the 8-0 (or 8-1) game for Black Lightening. I don't think we would have done as well if it weren't for Leader Debbie & Thomas coming to cheer us on...thanks for all your encouragement!

Curtis tried his best but wasn't lucky enough to connect one of his shots in the net this week. He had a bunch of fun and was truly skating up a storm...even with some ballet looking moves at times.
Great game guys. It's almost over as next week is the beginning of determining the standing in the play-offs and the first time they have a game on the full ice. I think we have some tired players. Then the week of the 22nd is Tournament week and we are done just in time to go to Disney!!!

Hockey Heroes

It was a nail biting game for Mom & Dad this week. Spencer was in net as the team's goalie and Curtis was determined to follow-up this week with another goal. We were playing the red team which, in the past has outplayed us. We were very hopefully that all the extra practice on the rink in the back yard would help!

Curtis started off with a goal within the first few minutes of the start of the game and Spencer ferociously fought off the attacks of the Red Devil's. He played an awesome game only letting in two goals and the final score was 5-2 for the Black Lightening!

(The looks of the Red Devil's after the game)
The boys were flying high with their victory and were treated to a special lunch at MacDonald's for their super efforts. Way to go our little heroes!

Curtis Gets First Goal

It was an awesome hockey game as the Black Lightening team got another win. Curtis got his very first goal in a game which lead the team to a 5-0 victory. Spencer did a super job of defending goal. They both skated like the wind and were very involved in the whole game. The entire team did a great job and their efforts were well recognized. Coach figures they had some motivation from Darcy Tucker in last night's Leaf victory in OT against Boston ;-)

Way to go my little stars.

Waterpark in Niagara Falls

We had all had enough of winter so decided to treat ourselves to a weekend away in Niagara Falls at the Americana Resort which had an indoor waterpark.

Hurry mom...let's get going!
There was lots to do on the climber/command center. The most fun for the boys was to shoot water at passersby and lifeguards...until they got busted! Look out that big pineapple basket dumps a gigantic load of water too! And 4 types of waterslides...2 body slides - great for racing and 2 tube slides!
Willy enjoyed the climber too!
Who's coming down the tube slide first?
Spencer & Thomas of course!
That was soooo much fun!
Here comes Curtis & Dad!
Let's do it again Dad...Mom...Deb...Gary. Practically unstopable!
We all enjoyed the wave pool and a couple of us even managed a few moments in the hot tub. It wasn't too long after we were all watered out that the kids had to hit the arcade too!

What a fun time. The boys can't wait to do it again some time soon.

Spencer's 7th Birthday Party

It's Glow-In-The-Dark Bowling at Hopedale Bowl! It was Boys vs. Girls and it was full of great shots, some silly shots, some gutter shots even though we had the bumpers up, fun music and lights. Everyone seemed to have a great time!

The Birthday Boy is closely watching the score.
Siobhan & Harmony doing some dancing.
Aiden getting ready to knock them all down.
Spencer, Thomas & Connor cheering on their team.
Caila, Sirrena & Harmony not worried at all about the boys team.
Curtis having a blast & Andre watching his team slide into a victory. What a player Andre turned out to be!
Andre, Curtis, Aiden, Thomas & Connor all watching Spencer do some damage!
Who likes bowling?
Then it was off to the party room for pizza, hot dogs, chips, drinks, cake & the most wicked presents ever!!!
Thanks everyone for coming to help Spencer celebrate & making his 7th Birthday so much fun!!!

Happy Birthday Spencer

It's January 13th & Spencer turns 7 today. His party isn't until next week so today is a complete Spencer's Special Day.

It starts with a special chocolate chip pancake breakfast complete with birthday candle.
Make a wish!

Then we were off to the movie of his choice...Veggie Tales: Pirates Who Don't Do Anything
Then it was off home to play some games & get ready for one of Spencer's favourite dinners...PIZZA with a special cinnamon stick dessert.

It was pretty cool being able to turn 7 and be able to have a whole day dedicated to all of your favourite things. Happy Birthday Big Boy!

Christmas with Anne & Adams

It was great to see Anne & Admas for Christmas. We opened presents, played games & kept a watchful eye on Adams...he likes to try to cheat ;-}

It's game time!
Get out of the way Vanna!

It was a great afternoon and we can't wait to do it again soon.

Skate Quick!

We have to get skating quickly! Grandpa B & Daddy O worked so hard to get the rink ready for us and the weather man is telling us we are supposed to get record high temperatures (+12) for the next week or so. If we don't get skating today, we won't be able to skate for a bit as the rink will turn back into a pond. It was great fun!!!
There were races...
..some fancy foot work...

...stopping to pose for the camera...

...look at me go Mom...

...and finally "we are tired, can you help us out?"

We all can't wait for the weather to come back to 'normal' so we can have more winter fun!
