We Loose Another One

Spencer looses another tooth at school yesterday and he's very happy to report that the Tooth Ferry made her visit last night. He even managed to get a peek at her & says that she has a body like a caterpillar.

I wonder how many more teeth are going to fall out after eating all the candy collected from trick or treating tonight?!?

Happy Birthday William

William turns 3 and had a cool reptile party. Amphibian Amber was the reptile lady.
It started with 'Mr. Fuzzy Bottom' (taranchula)
Then 'Boogers' (tree frog - sticky, green and happiest on the end of your finger)
And 'Jaws' (baby alligator)
'Ruby' (dragon)
'Peaches and Cream' (snake)
'Chocolate Chip' (another snake)
And then the big python...

Thanks for inviting us to your great party William. Great reptiles, yummy food and great crafts...it was really enjoyed by all!

Off to hockey practise.

Phew we are tired!

Beavers - Apple Day

The boys are thrilled to be taking part in Apple Day this year...
Daddy was a little less thrilled as he spent the previous night at the neighbours having a few too many. Do you think it was coincidence or poetic justice that their spot was right outside of the LCBO? Daddy never realized how noisy those tins with coins in them could be....
Happy to report that they sold out of their apples and Daddy survived it all!
The rest of the weekend was hockey and heading to the cottage to start the shut-down process.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

What an awesome long weekend. We had record setting temperatures and it was perfect for camping. On Saturday we did our traditional trip to Rocton Fair.

Checking out the animals
Entering a colouring contest
Going on some rides
And playing games!
We tried to watch some demolition derby too but we saw lightening and it started to rain so we thought we had better get moving.

Sunday was a bit of a gloomy foggy day but didn't dampen our spirits for our pot luck camping bbq with our camping gang Steve, Sherry, Baby Sarah, Debbie, Gary, Thomas and William. It was very yummy so made it tough to have any left overs!

Monday was as hot and humid as it had been almost all summer and we were off to Uncle Al and Aunt Becky's for a scrumptious turkey dinner. It was great to see all the family again and a special treat having Matt there this year.

We left there over stuffed and super tired from a jam packed weekend and thinking about all the things we have to be thankful for.

On The Go

What a busy weekend we had. We had hockey practice on Saturday. The boys are on the black team and have practices on Saturday and games on Sundays.
Spencer is number 6.
Curtis is number 2.

Then we headed off to the cottage where the boys did some biking...all on their own for a bit with walkie talkie in hand, should there be an emergency. Next time we need to define emergency does not mean taddling on each other or getting permission to buy stuff at the store.
And of course there had to be some frogging. We are pretty sure Curtis does all the "dirty" work as he came back with mud soaked runners but 'both the boys caught a frog'.
Spencer wouldn't even hold his. Hmmmmmm...
Saturday night it was Family Movie Night up at the Store where we watched Surfs Up. It pretty good considering the boys had only seen that movie twice before & Mom & Dad had not seen it. We had some munchies and the boys cuddled up on the floor with sleeping bags and pillows.

Sunday it was an early pack up so we could get back to the all important game...the first one of the season.
Now entering for the Black Timbits Team #6 Spencer Oliphant
and right behind him #2 Curtis Oliphant.

Hey Curtis, where is the rest of your team?!
"Here are some of them...right got to get the puck!"

Spencer is going in for a behind the legs gonna try to scoop the puck move. (Spencer on the right; Curtis on the left not too sure if he should get in there or not).

Spencer races back to net to try to help the goalie out and get that puck to the other end of the ice.

"Great Game!"

Although our goal tending was a little weak, Spencer managed to get a goal and the boys had a blast!!! Both are looking forward to next week.

Hockey & Beaver's Begins

It's official...summer is definitely over even though we hit record setting temperatures. Timbits Hockey evaluations started on Saturday and our guys were two of hundreds who were looked at in order to set up the teams. They had a pep talk from the coaches...
Then went off to the different testing areas.
And even had a mini-game.
It was great fun and the boys are looking forward to doing more and having Dad put the rink up in the back yard again!!

Beavers is Back!!!
It's back to Monday night Beavers with some of our friends from last year and some new faces. There were songs, a name badge craft with a fashion show at the end and even some story telling. We all can't wait to see what comes next!

Curtis Turns 5!!!

Hard to believe that our "little one" turns 5 today. He is 3' 5" and weighs 38 lbs so not very little any more.

His day started with the Happy Birthday song and presents from Dad, Spencer & Mom first thing in the morning.

Game boy case holder and games and would you believe....

A GUITAR!!! Here he is fine tuning his new guitar for a command performance.

Rock on big boy!

After breakfast and beginning to master the new games it was off to Woodie Wood Chucks.

There were lots of games...

...pizza and pop...

...some good laughs...

...lots of wicked presents...

...and of course chocolate cake!

Nothing like sending the kids home to their parents all hopped up on sugar...hey wait, I've got two of those too!!!

A super time was had by everyone and just when we thought it couldn't get any better, we get home to find our neighbours (Wally, Lori, Alicia & Andrias) went over the top with more presents.

After a few hours of trying everything out, it was time to 'relax' in the hot tub...and no, you don't get to escape bath night when you've been in the hot tub!
What a great way to end a fantastic day. Thanks to everyone for making it so special and a certain memory that Curtis will have for many years to come.
