NOTL-Better Late than Never

We finally made it to Niagara-on-the-Lake for our annual ornament picking. It wasn't quite on time but getting there at all was a win as far as we were concerned. It was just a quick trip as the boys had an afternoon hockey game. We managed to get to the store and grab a quick hot chocolate.

We also got to see some cool ice sculptures (it was NOTL's ice wine festival - darn would have loved to have gotten there much earlier to have sampled some of the local wines!!)

Then off to the falls to see the lights and grab dinner at the Flying Saucer restaurant http://www.niagarafallsrestaurants.net/flying-saucer.htm .

Great quick trip and we got some neat ornaments for the tree. Even Maui got her first ornament :)

Spencer Turns 11

It is Friday the 13th and Spencer is on the list of announcements at school for having a birthday. Then his class decorated his locker and made him a card. Once he gets home we are off to the restaurant of his choice for a special birthday dinner - Kings Buffet. Look out crab legs here he comes!!

The next day we are off to the Leafs vs NY Rangers game at the ACC. Spencer and I are roughing it in the box thanks to my work and Curtis and Daddy O are seats higher up in the stands thanks to friends from his old work. It wasn't too far into the game before Curtis & Dad got to join us and we all were having a great time.

Unfortunately the Leafs lost but we had a super time and Spencer said he really had a great birthday. Hard to believe he's 11 already!!

Hanging with the Leafs!

It was over to Canlan Sports Arena tonight to see Tiger Williams (got his start in Weyburn, SK) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tiger_Williams and Gary Leeman (got his start in Wilcox, SK) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Leeman.

The boys got autographs and pictures taken and some free Coke Zero (sponsors).
